A Hong Kong-born percussionist based in Melbourne, Therese completed her studies at the University of Melbourne and is active on the international stages. As an award-winning performer, she received 1st Prize in the ENKOR International Music Competition, 1st Prize in the Australia Marimba Competition, 2nd Prize in the United States International Music Competition just to name a few. Therese's recent recitals highlights include her sold-out solo recital concert Take Me Home in Hong Kong, solo recital on 3MBS radio station for The Talent, duo recital Passion (with pianist Chris Wong) in Melbourne, and solo recital at Inc. Percussion in Tokyo. Apart from performing, Therese arranges a massive amount of music and posts music videos on her YouTube channel. She released her first marimba album "A Little Bittersweet" on her marimba transciptions in 2020, and is currently working on releasing the next by 2022. Therese is committed to promote the culture of percussion and has premiered countless new marimba pieces by composers around the world. She has also performed in numerous international percussion festivals and events, including the Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC), PAS Hong Kong Days of Percussion, Festival de Percussion UIS Columbia, Virtual Music Concert by The Percussion Store Malaysia, Inc. Percussion Japan, and Australian Percussion Gathering, Brisbane. Therese studied from renowned percussionists in Australia, Hong Kong and Japan. Her intensive study with Keiko Abe in 2019 at Toho Gakuen School of Music has sharpened her with advanced skills on the marimba, and inspired her to continue sharing her passion through performance and education.
